Family Forest Therapy Walk
An immersive forest adventure for the whole family to connect through guided discovery. Rooted in principles of forest therapy and natural healing.
What is the Family Forest Therapy Walk?
The Family Forest Therapy Walk is a gentle, guided outdoor experience designed to help families connect more deeply with nature, themselves, and each other.
Led by Erika Clarkson, a forest therapy practitioner, this walk invites families to move slowly through the landscape using mindful nature-based practices, sensory awareness, quiet reflection, and simple connection activities. Rather than hiking for distance or reaching a destination, the experience is about arriving fully where you are.
Together, families will be guided to notice the sounds, textures, colours, scents, and small wonders of the forest. Children and adults are invited to explore at a slower pace, soften into the natural world, and experience the forest as a place of rest, play, curiosity, and connection.
This is a walk where there is no rush, no pressure, and no need to perform. Just space to breathe, wander, listen, and reconnect.
Who is this for?
This experience is for families who are craving more meaningful time together outdoors.
It is especially supportive for families who:
Want to slow down and create space away from screens, schedules, and daily busyness
Are looking for a gentle outdoor activity that supports connection and emotional well-being
Have children who love nature, exploring, imagination, or sensory play
Want to introduce mindfulness in a grounded, accessible way
Are navigating stress, transitions, big emotions, or simply need a reset together
Value nature, presence, and quality time as part of their family rhythm
No previous experience with mindfulness, meditation, or forest therapy is needed. This walk is designed to be welcoming, gentle, and accessible for both adults and children.
Why does this matter?
Families today are often moving quickly. Between work, school, activities, screens, and full schedules, it can be hard to find moments where everyone truly lands together.
Nature offers a different rhythm.
When we step into the forest, our bodies begin to soften. Our senses wake up. Our nervous systems have an opportunity to settle. Children often become more curious and grounded, and adults are given permission to slow down too.
A Family Forest Therapy Walk creates space for families to reconnect without needing to force conversation or structure every moment. The natural world becomes the guide. A bird call, a fallen leaf, the texture of bark, or the quiet between the trees can become an opening for presence, wonder, and connection.
This experience matters because families need places where they can simply be together. Not rushing. Not achieving. Not distracted.
Just present.
Together.
In nature.
