How could the Coronavirus be showing up for you?

How could the coronavirus be showing up for you? How could you look at all of this fear? Since our external environment is a reflection of our internal environment (read that again if you need to!), this could be showing us all where we have fear showing up internally that we haven’t been ready to look at yet. And each person’s fear could be different. Are we all just needing a time out? Are we all just needing to slow down?

There are several belief systems that I’ve looked at unraveling this week. The first one has to do with lack, this was shown to me by everyone stocking up on toilet paper. Where have I been living from a fear of lack? One area of my life I investigated first was lack of nice weather (I needed to keep this small at first for my ego’s sake!). I’m always capitalizing on nice weather, fearing that there won’t be another nice day. I will over commit myself to spend as much time outside for fear that there won’t be another nice day to enjoy. Well, guess what this does, it burns me way out. Fear burns me out, and fear also lowers our immune system. So guess what has happened to me in the last month from burning myself out for fear of lack and missing out? Well, I came down with the flu, twice!

And, because how I do one thing is how I do everything, I could see this in so many areas of my life, including with my boys. I have a fear of missing out spending time with them. This is totally coming from a place of fear and lack. So, I over commit myself when we spend time together and burn myself out.

What is the lesson here? When I’m living from a place of fear and lack, I’m living in the future and not being fully present. Being in the present moment is where you cultivate joy and happiness. When you become aware of these fears and the fact that you are living in the future, you strip the power away and are slowly able to be more present, for yourself and for those around you. When you are in the present moment, you are in a state of joy and happiness more often.

Here’s a tool to assist with staying in the present moment. When you find yourself in a state of fear and thinking “What will be?”, “What could be?”, “What might be?”, become aware of those thoughts and instead replace them with a simple mantra such as: “I choose a state of joy and happiness”, “I choose to be more present”, I choose to see love instead of fear”. Also, journal about the fears that are surfacing. Why are they showing up for you? What are they trying to show you that you haven’t been able to look at yet? I’m most certain that you will have some revelations show up for you that you can unravel!
